Valerie Tryon concert

In benefit of the Duet Club of Hamilton, custodian of the Michael Geryk Memorial Scholarship fund, and annual scholarship provider for local talented music students.

Many years ago, a good friend to many in Hamilton’s music community died following a bicycling accident. He was Michael Geryk, the piano technician for Hamilton Place, McMaster University and countless pianists. A memorial fund was created, first used as a Hamilton Kiwanis Music Festival scholarship, then an annual memorial piano competition presented by the Duet Club of Hamilton. A couple of years ago, the remaining funds to be used to restore the Duet Club’s Steinway grand piano, to be shown off with a special Memorial Recital by the great Valerie Tryon.

The concert is on Sunday April 24 at 3 pm at Melrose United Church, 86 Homewood Avenue, Hamilton
